Mr. Stein is an associate member of the firm of Brown & Gould, having joined the practice in June 2007. Prior to joining Brown & Gould, Mr. Stein served as “Of Counsel” to the law firm of Glassman & Bullock and managed The Law Office of Jesse D. Stein. In those capacities he litigated civil actions on behalf of clients of the firm. He has litigated commercial cases and regularly litigated estates & trust litigation, breach of fiduciary duty cases and elder law matters. Before entering private practice, Mr. Stein worked at non-for-profit corporation known as University Legal Services, the Protection and Advocacy Program for the District of Columbia where he served as Head PAIMI Attorney. While at University Legal Services, he represented persons with mental illness and children with special needs in civil rights class-actions before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and civil actions the Superior Court for the District of Columbia, Probate Division and Mental Retardation Branch. He has presented testimony to the City Council for The District of Columbia and advocated for the development of community based services for persons with mental illness and on behalf of persons with disabilities who experienced abuse and neglect.
